The Battle of tariff is on between Jio and others telecom companies

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the company’s special event announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 100 million customers in 170 days of launch, adding 7 customers every second on average. It has 60,000 Jio employees and over 10 lakh Jio retail partners.

The Chairman said that Jio customers used 200 crore minutes voice and video calls everyday and 100 crore data a month. Jio carries nearly 5.5 crore hours of video daily on its network. He said that Jio has two time more 4G base stations than all Indian operators combined.

Jio is now offering Prime Membership registration at Rs 99/month after the end of ‘Happy New Year offer'. All the existing offers will be carried forward to the end of March 31st, 2018. To celebrate 100 million customers registration under Jio 4g network, company announces another market disrupting tariff plan for 4G subscribers.

Jio customers can now register Jio Prime Membership subscription which further enables Jio users to get access to all existing benefits under ‘Happy New Offer' for another one year.

Jio subscribers can now continue same ‘Happy New Year Offer' just by paying a small amount worth Rs 99 for 1 year of ‘Jio Prime Membership subscription'. Jio Prime 99 put a users under ‘Prime Membership plan‘, otherwise subscribers will automatically converter to general plan and need to opt in any of the existing prepaid or postpaid monthly plans and their add-on packs.

Jio was supposed to get defeated by great rival but new announcement confirmed that company not gonna leave an inch of telecom space to any of existing rivals. Jio announces to offer dynamic tariff plans which means benefits of Jio tariff plans will keep changing with the change in tariff plans of rivals and, benefits will be much bigger compared to rivals.

A day after Jio announced the Prime service and said that it would offer 30GB 4G data for Rs 303, Airtel has sent a notification to its post-paid users that they can get additional 10GB data for Rs 100.Airtel's latest move will mean that postpaid subscribers in India will be able to opt for the additional data benefit by just paying Rs. 100. It's worth mentioning that Airtel postpaid subscribers to avail the 10GB 4G data at just Rs. 100 will need to have a 4G smartphone.

Here are the key points of Jio prime membership
Membership: Jio Prime membership is limited to the 100 million existing Reliance Jio users as well as those who join the network before March 31, 2017.
Cost: All Jio members can enroll prime membership for a one time fee of Rs 99 (which is valid for one year). Additionally, to get the free mobile data and other benefits, users will need to pay another Rs. 303 per month for the next 12 months (which amounts to Rs 10 per day, approximately).
Subscription: To subscribe, users can go to any Jio store or Jio partner store. Besides, MyJio app and Jio.com website can also be used.
Commencement: Users can start subscribing to the plan from March 1. It will end on March 31.

Offers: Under the plan, unlimited mobile data for a year (1GB daily FUP limit), media and content benefits associated with the Jio apps suite are available. "There will be many other attractive deals and offers from both Jio and its partners (for) the Jio Prime members," a statement released by the company said. Like the current offer, Jio Prime will also reduce the internet speed to 128kbps after the 1GB data per day limit is crossed.

Users who do not subscribe: Reliance Jio users who opt not to subscribe the Jio Prime membership will have to pay for data and other services, but not voice calls (including on roaming).

As before, Airtel is likely to offer 4G services in nearly 22 circles in India, and for the other non-4G circles, the company will provide 3G data against this offer. Similar to Airtel's earlier offers, the new "Surprise Offer" may require users to avail the free benefit via the MyAirtel app. The 10GB data is likely to be valid only for 28 days.

The Airtel offer was first reported by India Today Tech, and it added that the "Surprise Offer" by the telecom company will be in addition to an existing plan subscribed by the postpaid customers. Unfortunately, Airtel's offer of 10GB data at just Rs. 100 isn't available to all postpaid users.

This is not the first time when Airtel has bumped the data offering at a minimal price. Last year, Airtel offered up to 10GB data at a price of Rs. 259.
