Verizon Says to Expect January’s Android Security Patch Next Week as Build NMF26U

Google launched the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones with Android Nougat 7.1 . Both of these devices were later updated to Android Nougat 7.1.1 with latest security patches. These devices also got the December security patches as well. The update should be small, especially after the big Android 7.1.1 update that arrived at the beginning of December.Now there is more information about another security patches from Google to its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. The company is expected to roll out the January security patches to these devices. According to US carrier Verizon, these two devices will get January security patches in the coming next week. It is also worth mentioning that the build number for this update will be NMF26U. The Verizon listing also confirms the actual date of availability of update. Cyanogen services shutting down on 31/12,but there is a ray of hope in form of fork

Cyanogen has announced to discontinue  its services  as on 31/12/16. The news came in the form of a blog post which was mere 140 chars, informing that all services and Cyanogen-supported  nightly builds  will be discontinued/shutdown. CyanogenMod that relied on Cyanogen for monetary support and the shared source base, announced that CyanogenMod will also shutdown, but there is a fork in the road. “Community of developers, designers, device maintainers and translators have taken the steps necessary to produce a fork of the CM source code and pending patches,” said the company. The fork of CyanogenMod source code will live on as Lineage OS, said the company. However, it is not clear when it will go live. Karbonn Aura Note 4G, K9 Smart 4G, Titanium Vista 4G, K9 Viraat 4G Launched: Price, Specifications, and More

Karbonn has launched four new 4G smartphones in India - the  Aura Note 4G ,  K9 Smart 4G ,  Titanium Vista 4G , and  K9 Viraat 4G . While the last three are 4G variants of smartphones the company had launched earlier, the first is an entirely new offering. The Aura Note 4G and Titanium Vista 4G have been priced by the company at Rs. 6,490 and Rs. 5,090 while K9 Smart 4G and K9 Viraat 4G are available for Rs. 5,090 and Rs. 5,790 respectively. The company says that it is targeting entry-level users with the 4G variants of its earlier phones. "Targeted at entry level users, Karbonn's 4G enabled range has been especially developed to suit the varied digital and language proficiency of the country's diverse consumer spectrum. Moto X Style running Android 7.1.1 Nougat spotted on GFXBench

Motorola Moto X Style has been spotted on GFXBench. The handset appears to be bench-marked against the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which makes it quite obvious the update is being tested by the company behind the veil and may release it soon for the general public. So far the company has only released the Nougat update for the Moto Z and Moto G (4th gen) devices, and this is pretty much unclear as to when it will release it for Moto X Play or the Moto X Style smartphone.  Source:gadgetox

Lenovo’s prototype based flexible display phone and tablet

At the recent Lenovo Tech World 2016 held in San Francisco, Lenovo showed two next generation prototypes based on flexible display technology. The first prototype was called CPlus. It is a conceptual smartphone / smartwatch that can also be worn as a band on a user’s wrist. The second prototype was called Folio and was a tablet that could be folded in half. The development of these prototypes was that Lenovo’s focus groups showed that people want to interact with the phone or tablet when it is folded. One implication of this preference is the need for a display that can bend outwards, not just inwards.                 The first prototype is called CPlus, the video you see above.
