OnePlus 5 Leaked Render Shows a Dual Camera System on the Back

Chinese smartphone vendor, OnePlus will release the OnePlus 5 in less than two months from now. A few rumours have revealed that the phone will come with noticeable hardware changes and the company will employ dual camera system at the back.

The image of the phone, which India Today Tech has sourced from people who have seen the phone and have possibly worked on the OnePlus 5, also shows that the phone may retain the design that consumers first saw in the OnePlus 3T. This means the OnePlus 5 too will have the similar metal frame made of brushed aluminium and will possibly have the similar rounded edges. Also considering the fact that the phone doesn't have a fingerprint scanner on the back means it will have that sensor under the screen on the front.

According to the render, OnePlus will place the two cameras vertically, with a LED flashlight below it.Also, the design of the phone seems to remain the same except for a noticeable change which is the absence of antenna lines on the back. If this seamless back cover is indeed part of the final design of the phone, chances are that the OnePlus 5 will look pretty stunning, although it may also lose some of its "edginess" and "industrial looks" that the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T sport. The OnePlus 5 is also expected to come in grey, gold and black colours.

The dual camera feature is particularly important because it will help OnePlus 5 match or beat phones like the iPhone 7 Plus, and now the Xiaomi Mi 6, that use similar dual cameras to offer features like a telephoto lens and portrait blur mode. Although for now, there are no specific details of the image sensors inside the OnePlus or what kind of lenses it will use.Along with the dual camera, it is also almost certain that OnePlus 5 will come with Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat. Already, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T use Android Nougat as the base for their software.

The Chinese firm will be skipping the OnePlus 4, due to some superstitions in its homeland China which suggest that the number 4 symbolizes death. Other Chinese brands such as Vivo also skipped the number 4 and jumped to Vivo V5 and V5 Plus. The same will be the case with OnePlus as its 2017 ‘Flagship Killer’ will be called as OnePlus 5.

As for the specification is concern, the OnePlus 5  is said to pack a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. But, the company could go with the Full HD resolution as well, you never know. Continuing its tradition of packing high-end chipset, the OnePlus 5 will come equipped with Snapdragon 835 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM. OnePlus may not go for 8GB module on the phone as other flagship phones are still packing 4GB of RAM.

On the pricing part too there is no clarity yet. But just like other OnePlus phones, the OnePlus 5 too will be aggressively priced compared to other flagship phones like the Galaxy S8
