Adobe Acrobat Reader app will now turn your smartphone camera into a scanner

Adobe Acrobat Reader is the most powerful PDF reader in the world, no doubt about it. PC users already know the significance of Acrobat Reader but the mobile users are not aware of the app.

Google just announced Photoscan an app that will let you scan photos, Adobe has now added a new scan tool into Acrobat Reader for iOS and Android users. Those with the Reader app simply need to update it to start scanning.

You can snap a picture of a business card or receipt, and so on and simply save it as a PDF. “Scan allows anyone to snap a photo of anything and turn it into a clean, storable and sharable PDF right within Acrobat Reader mobile”, Adobe writes in a blogpost. It will basically let you digitise everything from shopping receipts to favorite recipes or just about anything you need to keep track in order to organise your day.

The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader also lets you make single PDF by scanning multiple documents at a time. You can reorder the scanned bills or images as per your requirements. You can share the document via Box, Document Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, SharePoint, or any of the integrated storage options available on your smartphone or store the file on the local storage.

All this is possible through the Adobe Sensei machine learning platform that powers the platform. It lets the app automatically detect the edges of a document for easy cropping and saving of images. Moreover, the built-in software will also work at taking corrective measures such as enhancing the sharpness.

Download the enhanced version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Google play store or Apple App Store to explore all the latest features.
