As expected after so many leaks and rumours, Huawei has launched the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus smartphones in China. The big highlights of the successors of the Huawei Nova and Huawei Nova Plus are its 20-megapixel selfie camera, the dual camera setup on the back, and the latest Android software. The only differences between the two smartphones are its storage capacity, battery, and screen size.
What we get with the Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus is a full metal unibody design.
Specification wise, the Huawei Nova 2 smartphone has dual-SIM support, and sports a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) IPS in-cell display with 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by a 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor and is paired with ARM Mali-T830 MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 64GB of internal storage with the option to expand further via a microSD card slot (up to 128GB).It got a 2950mAh battery.
Huawei Nova 2 Plus, sports a similar design and specifications except for a 5.5-inch full-HD display, and a larger 3340mAh battery. The inbuilt storage also sees a bump up to 128GB.
Both the smartphones run on Android 7.0 Nougat based on EMUI 5.1 OS.The Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus sport a metal finish with a fingerprint scanner at the back. The speaker grilles and the USB Type-C port are at the bottom edge, while the power and volume keys are seen on the right edge of the device. There’s no Home Button in the front, and no capacitive buttons are seen as well.Like it seems to be inspired by iPhone7.
On the camera front, Huawei Nova 2 sports a dual real camera setup of 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel with LED flash, PFAF, 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. The hybrid dual sim smartphone supports 4G network and comes will all connectivity features like GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type C. The Huawei Nova measures 142.2 x 68.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 143 grams.
The Huawei Nova 2 Plus also has a dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel with LED flash, PFAF, 1.25-micron pixel size, f/1.9 aperture. Like Nova 2, this also has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. This 4G smartphone also houses a fingerprint scanner and comes will connectivity functions like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/GLONASS, a USB Type C and Bluetooth 4.2. The Huawei Nova Plus measures 153.9 x 74.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 169 grams.
The smartphones will be available in Green, Rose Gold, Black, Gold, and Blue colour options.The Huawei Nova 2 is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 23,500), while the Huawei Nova 2 Plus is priced at CNY 2,899 (roughly Rs. 27,200). Both the smartphones will be made available from June 16.
