Nokia 9 with 5.3-inch display passes FCC certification

HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns the right to sell Nokia-branded smartphones, could launch Nokia 9 with dual rear camera setup and Snapdragon 835 mobile platform.

Nokia 9 has cleared the US certification authority FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

Nokia 9, which is listed with model number TA-1004, will features a 5.3-inch display. Good news is that the Dual SIM smartphone is expected to support microSD card as well.

Nokia 9 has been previously spotted on several benchmarking sites like Antutu and Geekbench, with the model number TA-1004. On Geekbench, Nokia’s upcoming flagship smartphone has been seen listed as ‘Unknown Heart’.

As per the Geekbench listing, the phone comes with 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 835 under the hood. It also shows the device will run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. This is not the first time Nokia 9 has been found on a benchmark site. Nokia 9 has been allegedly listed on AnTuTu and Geekbench, with the model number TA-1004.

According to NPU the Nokia 9 will be the first flagship phone from Nokia, and it might well be the first Nokia phone to pack the IRIS scanner. The leak also reveals that Nokia is planning to add a 5.5-inch QHD OLED screen to the Nokia 9 to match the rivals such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.

Another interesting part is that Nokia 9 will be IP68 certified and runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box, claims the rumour.

The upcoming Nokia flagship being conceptualized with Snapdragon 835 and 41 MP pure view. The thought of 41 MP PureView camera sensors is just stunning which reminds of Lumia 1020.

According to tipster, the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and the panel will be an OLED one. The phone will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, clubbed with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU.

Nokia 9 is rumored to be available in two variant 64GB internal and 128Gb internal. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB with the help of MicroSD card.

The rumors claimed that Nokia 9 will be the first phone to feature OZO Audio. Nokia claims OZO as “Advanced psychoacoustic technology” that “allows sound to be captured and played back just like it would in real life”.

The source also revealed the price of the phone for various markets including India. As per the report, the Nokia 9 will cost Rs. 44,999 in India when it launches, and that’s much-expected price and a decent one if the phone come with top notch hardware or at least with the rumoured specifications. Also, the phone will be sold for $699 in the US and 749 Euro in Europe.

Meanwhile, HMD Global is gearing up to launch Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 smartphones in India on June 13. The company has already sent out a ‘save the date’ for the event. “Let’s join hands and welcome a new era of Nokia smartphones,” HMD Global’s invite reads.
